When I’m aiming to increase my water intake, it helps to make this simple infused water recipe. I make a pitcher of this spa-like cucumber water to turn the act of drinking a glass of water into a more nutritious and enjoyable experience.

I like to keep a large pitcher of this cucumber water in my fridge, especially throughout the summer, which has resulted in both me and my kids staying more hydrated than we used to be. Since it takes hardly any effort, making this simple infused water is a fast recipe that provides many benefits for my family, so I don’t mind taking a few minutes to do it.
Recipe Highlights
Quick – it takes me less than 5 minutes to make a refreshing drink with health benefits
Flavorful – if drinking glass after glass of plain water is hard, this cucumber flavor drink makes it easier to down more H2O, an essential nutrient that everyone needs
Spa at home – I love creating a zen moment at home by making this fancy water with very little effort. Drinking a glass of it is a simple mindful habit that helps me feel more relaxed.
Easy to customize – I tend to keep things simple by infusing water with cucumber, mint, and citrus flavored electrolytes, but it’s easy to create new flavors by using other mix-ins. I share some of my suggestions below.
What You’ll Need
This cucumber mint water requires just a few ingredients and equipment:
- Water – May use cold tap water, filtered water, seltzer water, or unflavored sparkling water
- Cucumber slices – Any type of fresh cucumber will work, including English cucumber, hothouse cucumber, garden cucumber, and even mini cucumbers.
- Fresh mint – A few sprigs of fresh mint leaves adds refreshing flavor
- Water pitcher or large jar – Use a large pitcher or jar with a 2-quart (which is 8 cups or 64 ounces) capacity. I bought this glass water infuser pitcher last year and have been loving it for creating flavorful water infused with real foods.
- Optional: Electrolyte powder – I like to boost this infused water recipe with 1-2 packets of LMNT electrolytes, especially if I intend to drink this water after a sweaty workout
4 Benefits Of Cucumber Water
I love to bring the spa to my home and reap the benefits of:
- An antioxidant boost – cucumbers not only infuse this water with refreshing cucumber flavor, but they also infuse the water with some vitamin C, vitamin K, beta carotene, manganese, and flavonoids
- Quicker hydration – if adding electrolytes to this infused water, you’ll also get the benefit of key electrolytes (sodium, potassium, and magnesium), which means this flavored water hydrates faster than plain water
- Help with weight loss – when this low-calorie drink is used to replace sugary sodas, sports drinks, and juices, it can be a tool for helping someone lose weight
- Healthy skin – drinking cucumber water helps to flush out toxins that interfere with maintaining a healthy complexion more rapidly
Other Easy Additions
Get creative with the flavor additions in this water. Some good choices are:
- Cubed watermelon, cantaloupe, or honeydew
- Lemon slices or a squeeze of lemon juice, lime slices, or orange wedges
- Fresh raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, or blueberries
- Fresh sliced ginger

Notes
Cucumber water is a zero-calorie drink. If adding electrolytes, it will add some sodium and other minerals, and perhaps some sugar, depending on which electrolyte powder you use. I like LMNT electrolyte packets, which has zero sugar, zero caffeine, and contains 1,000 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, and 30 mg magnesium per packet. If adding 1 packet of LMNT to this cucumber water recipe, an 8-ounce serving would contain 125 mg sodium and 25 mg potassium.
