- small cucumbers - distilled white vinegar - kosher salt - cane sugar - black peppercorns - cold water - - garlic cloves - sprigs fresh dill

INGREDIENTS

Place a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add vinegar, salt, and sugar (if using). Stir.

STEP 1:

Heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, just until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved. Add peppercorns. Set aside.

STEP 2:

Prep the cucumbers. Slice cucumbers lengthwise into spears or into 1/4-inch rounds.

STEP 3:

Add garlic and dill to bottom of wide-mouth jar. Add the sliced cucumbers. Pour brine over cucumbers, cover completely.

STEP 4:

Place lid on jar and refrigerate for 24 hours. Pickles will keep in fridge for up to 1 month.

STEP 5:
