Bring water to a boil in a saucepan then using a slotted spoon, gently slip the eggs into the water one at a time. Gently boil for 12 minutes.
Once boiling time is up, use the slotted spoon to immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath.
Let the eggs sit in the ice bath for 10 minutes. The eggs will be cool enough to handle and are ready to be peeled.
