CHEESY SCALLOPED POTATOES AND HAM

unsalted butter yellow onion frozen broccoli florets gluten free flour blend milk of choice fine salt dried thyme garlic powder black pepper frozen hash browns cooked, diced ham shredded sharp cheddar cheese sliced green onions

INGREDIENTS

In a Dutch oven or skillet heat the butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion and frozen broccoli, cook for 4-5 minutes.

STEP 1:

Add the flour, tossing to coat the ingredients, cook for 1 more minute. Reduce to low and add milk, whisking carefully. Add the salt, thyme, garlic powder and pepper. Bring to boil for 1 minute, remove from heat.

STEP 2:

Add the frozen hash browns, diced ham, and 1 cup of cheese, stirring well. Transfer to a baking dish, spreading evenly. 

STEP 3:

Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, turn broiler to High and broil for 3-5 minutes.

STEP 4:

Garnish with sliced green onions, chives, or parsley then serve. 

STEP 5:
