+ butter (or coconut oil) + yellow onion + frozen broccoli florets + gluten-free flour + milk of choice + salt & pepper + dried thyme + garlic powder + frozen hash browns + cooked, diced ham + shredded cheddar cheese (non-dairy cheese if needed)
In a dutch oven, heat butter until melted. Add onion and frozen broccoli and cook until softened, 4-5 minutes.
Add the flour, toss to coat, cook for 1 minute more.
Reduce heat to low and add milk, whisking as adding. Stir in salt & pepper and herbs. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute.
Add the frozen hash browns, diced ham, and one cup of cheese. Transfer to a baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle top with remaiing 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, turn broiler on high and broil for 3-5 minutes until top is golden brown.
