Servings: 16 patties 1x

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb ground breakfast sausage of choice
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp coarse ground pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 ½ tsp ground fennel seeds, lightly crushed (may sub 4 drops Fennel Essential Oil)
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (may sub 1/2 cup dried cranberries)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, place 1 cup fresh cranberries and enough water to cover them. Bring to a soft boil for about 5 minutes or until slightly soft. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl add ground sausage and turkey and all spices. Mix until all spices are well incorporated. Gently fold in cranberries.
  3. Place a medium skillet over medium heat (a cast iron skillet works great for this!). Scoop out a small handful of mixture (about ¼ cup) and press between your hands to form a nice round, flat patty. Place them in the hot skillet. Cook for 7-10 minutes, turn them over and cook for another 7-10 minutes or until cooked all the way through.
  4. Serve hot with a small side of maple syrup for dipping (omit syrup for Whole30)
