5-ingredient baked ziti

gluten-free!

+ pasta of choice (gluten-free if needed) + 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage & 1/2 lb ground beef mixed + tomato basil marinara sauce + mozzarella cheese + Italian seasoning

INGREDIENTS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. To a skillet, add the ground beef and sausage. Cook until browned.

STEP 1:

While the meat is cooking, bring a pot of water to a boil, add the pasta and cook until al dente (pasta should be slightly firm for this recipe)

STEP 2:

Add the cooked meat, drained pasta, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and one cup of mozzarella cheese to a baking dish and gently stir together. 

STEP 3:

Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top, cover with foil, and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese if extra melty.

STEP 4:

Serve with a sprinkle of fresh basil and Parmesan cheese, if desired.

STEP 5:

Want more veggies? Add 3-4 cups of diced zucchini, diced onion, roughly chopped spinach, and/or chopped broccoli! Cook until tender, then add to the mixture before baking.
